In late afternoon, start street food walking tour with an insight into traditional Vietnamese food at different eateries. First stop is near the Cathedral to savour cakes called “Pillow Cake” duo to the same Pillow shape. Then taste one of the most famous Vietnamese foods is Chicken Noodle Soup at the specialized chicken soup restaurant. The next stop is Dong Xuan market. If it still opens (7:00 a.m-6:00 p.m), we can go into to watch hundreds of stall with various commodity, we can easily buy them as a souvenir. Another tourist attraction to visit is Quan Chuong Gate, an architectural work and a cultural, historical and geographical vestige of Hanoi. This gate has been one of the twenty-one city gates of Hanoi since 1749. We’ll reach to the traditional house at 87 Ma May street is typical of the traditional architecture in the Old Quarter. It was recognized as Vietnamese National Heritage in 2004. When we leave the old house, we continue to enjoy food. One of the traditional Vietnamese Food you can’t miss is Spring rolls. The next dish we taste is Vietnamese crepes stuffed with shrimp, bean sprouts and served with loads of crunchy garnishes. Now, it’s time for drinks. Enjoy local beer (draught beer) with Potato chips at the “international” corner Ta Hien where each night, hundreds of travellers and a large number of locals flock here to hang out. Speicially, all seats just need small plastic stools, drink beer and observe relaxly the local daily life follow the characteristic way at the Old Quarter. The guide will then take you to one of Hanoi’s best kept secrets, a dark narrow alley leading to the cafe. It may be difficult to find for visitors, but it is well worth the effort. It makes you feel like mystery. You’ll be so surprised until you savour the Egg-Coffee which is absolutely delicious and has the unique taste among Vietnamese coffee. Hoan Kiem lake is a usual site to finish the tour. Then, you can either continue exploring on your own, take a taxi or ask the guide’s assistance for directions to get back the hotel and suggestions anything.
