Day 1 title: Arrival Hanoi, street food walking tour

Welcome to Hanoi!

Note: Please print “Visa on arrival approval letter” (provided by TiiM) and prepare 25 USD cash and a passport photo if you are planning on getting Vietnam visa on arrival.

Our local guide will meet you at the airport, holding a welcome sign on which your name is written. Then the guide and driver will transfer you to the hotel in the city center and help you with the check-in procedure. On the way from the airport to the hotel, the guide will provide you some information on Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. The rest of the day remains free for your leisure.

If your flight arrives early enough, we may arrange Hanoi street food walking tour for free of charge. If you arrive late, this tour is not arranged and not refunded.

In late afternoon, start street food walking tour with an insight into traditional Vietnamese food at different eateries. First stop is near the Cathedral to savour cakes called “Pillow Cake” duo to the same Pillow shape. Then taste one of the most famous Vietnamese foods isChicken Noodle Soup at the specialized chicken soup restaurant. The next stop is Dong Xuan market. If it still opens (7:00 a.m-6:00 p.m), we can go into to watch hundreds of stall with various commodity, we can easily buy them as a souvenir. Another tourist attraction to visit isQuan Chuong Gate, an architectural work and a cultural, historical and geographical vestige of Hanoi. This gate has been one of the twenty-one city gates of Hanoi since 1749. We’ll reach to the traditional house at 87 Ma May street is typical of the traditional architecture in the Old Quarter. It was recognized as Vietnamese National Heritage in 2004. When we leave the old house, we continue to enjoy food. One of the traditional Vietnamese Food you can’t miss isSpring rolls. The next dish we taste is Vietnamese crepes stuffed with shrimp, bean sprouts and served with loads of crunchy garnishes. Now, it’s time for drinks. Enjoy local beer (draught beer) with Potato chips at the “international” corner Ta Hien where each night, hundreds of travellers and a large number of locals flock here to hang out. Speicially, all seats just need small plastic stools, drink beer and observe relaxly the local daily life follow the characteristic way at the Old Quarter. The guide will then take you to one of Hanoi’s best kept secrets, a dark narrow alley leading to the cafe. It may be difficult to find for visitors, but it is well worth the effort. It makes you feel like mystery. You’ll be so surprised until you savour the Egg-Coffee which is absolutely delicious and has the unique taste among Vietnamese coffee. Hoan Kiem lake is a usual site to finish the tour. Then, you can either continue exploring on your own, take a taxi or ask the guide’s assistance for directions to get back the hotel and suggestions anything.


Day 2 title: Hanoi city tour full day

Day 2 description: Meet and greet at your hotel at 8.00am. Start on cyclo tour to experience at the Old Quarter, along beautiful tree-lined boulevards until we get to Ba Dinh Square, site of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and where Ho Chi Minh first declared independence from French rule in 1945. Visit the humble house on stilts. Continue on to the intriguing Ho Chi Minh Museum, an amazingly surreal exhibition of the life of Ho Chi Minh. We’ll also view the Presidential Palaceand One Pillar Pagoda. After stopping for lunch we continue our tour by visiting Ha Noi first university - the Temple of Literature - dating back to 1070. Our next stop for the day is the infamous ‘Ha Noi Hilton’ - Ha Noi former central prison made famous first for the incarceration of the leaders of Vietnam’s national liberation movement and later US Air force pilots shot down over North Vietnamese airspace. Visit Ngoc Son Temple, peaceful West Lake, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and History Museum (or Ethnology Museum). Finish your day with a relaxing walk around Ha Noi famous Hoan Kiem Lake. Return to your hotel at about 5.00pm.


Day 3 title: Hanoi to Halong Bay for overnight cruise

Meet and greet at your hotel at 7.00am for the journey east (approximately 170km or 4 hours) to Hon Gai, the gateway to amazing Halong Bay. Considered Vietnam's greatest natural wonder, Halong Bay boasts over 3,000 islands that rise out of the sea to provide a spectacular natural environment. En route enjoy the captivating rural scenery and see fields of busy workers farming their rice fields using traditional methods of cultivation. At 11:30am, you will board your luxurious junk and set sail through the bay whilst lunch is served. Spend the afternoon cruising the bay with stops to explore fascinating caves, a floating fishing village and to enjoy a swim in the warmer months. Indulge in sunset cocktails on deck before a scrumptious buffet dinner is served.

Day 4 title: Halong Bay to Hanoi, flight to Da Nang, Hoi An

Day 4 description: Start the day with a Tai Chi class on the sundeck or a traditional massage. Visit an island to enjoy panorama view of Ha Long Bay, relax and swim at the beach. Pass by a fishing village. After exploring a lofty grotto hidden beneath towering cliffs, we sail back to port. Disembark and travel back to Hanoi.

You will be transferred to Hanoi airport for your flight to Da Nang.

Today, learn about the lives of the local fishermen on this family-run, interactive tour. Start on a transfer from your hotel to the jetty then board your private boat for a cruise through ‘Water Coconut Palm Canal’ - a tranquil area little visited by tourists. Learn about the history of the area and the lives of the local fisherman through a fun, hands-on experience. Learn local fishing techniques and how to navigate a basket boat through the narrow waterways and then enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch on board. This family-run tour offers local interaction and gives you a real insight into Vietnamese life.

In the afternoon, start on walking tour through the quite streets of enchanting Hoi An. The narrow lanes are ideal for a walking tour to visit the old merchants’ house with influences from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture, then visit the Hoi An Museum, the Assembly Hall of the Chaozhou Chinese Congregation with outstanding wood carvings and the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge. Also have a look at the colorful market with stalls brimming with tropical specialties including silk, which can be turned into fashionable garments within a day.


Day 6 title: Hoi An to Hue, Marble Mountain, dragon boat in Hue

Day 6 description:

This morning drive from Hoi An to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, via lush rice fields and pretty coastal views. On the way we visit Marble Mountain then drive over the famous Hai Van Pass (Pass of Ocean Clouds). Stop at Lang Co Beach, a lovely stretch of beach curving outwards between a clear blue lagoon and the sea. Arrive Hue.

In late afternoon, depart for Thien Mu (Celestial Lady) Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River constructed in 1601, the 21-meter tower is the centerpiece of the pagoda and represents seven reincarnations of Buddha. On the pagoda grounds is the famous Austin car a resident monk drove to Saigon in 1963 to protest against the southern regime. The photo of his self immortalization is one of the most well known images of the war. Return to your hotel.


Day 7 title: Hue Citadel and tombs, flight to Ho Chi Minh

On this one day tour explore the home of the Emperors citadel and the imperial tombs and see why this city has been an inspiration to Vietnam's most respected poets.

Meet and greet at your hotel at 8.00am. Start on a visit the impressive home of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors - the Citadel. Much of the Citadel was destroyed during the Tet Offensive in 1968 but is gradually being restored. From here take a cyclo through dai noi ‘Old City’ to Tinh Tam Lake where the Emperors used to come to relax. Also visit the tomb of the fourth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, Tu Duc and the second last emperor Khai Dinh. Journey on to Khai Dinh’s Tomb designed in traditional Vietnamese style with a European touch making it unique from the other tombs in Hue.

You will be transferred to Hue airport for your flight from Hue to Ho Chi Minh.

Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam's commercial capital and a city of extraordinary energy. Nowhere is Vietnam's rush to modernize more visible. Despite its rush to modernity, Saigon, as it is still known, is a friendly and welcoming place with many reminders of its turbulent past and a palpable momentum towards the future.

Meet and greet at your hotel at 8.00am. This morning begin a walking tour of Saigon's famous and historic city landmarks. The tour will take you through the heart of the city along Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), past the Rex HotelHo Chi Minh SquareMunicipal Theatreand Notre Dame Cathedral. Following a tour of the Reunification Palace (formerly the Presidential Palace). Make a short visit to Long Beach Pearl and Ben Thanh Market, stop forlunch at a 'pho' restaurant for a delicious bowl of the noodle soup that Vietnam is famous for. We then travel to the Cu Chi tunnels located in an area known during the Vietnam War as the 'Iron Triangle' on account of the strength of its communist insurgency. The Cu Chi tunnel network was established as a means of waging guerrilla war against superior French and later American fire power. The network stretches over 250km and extends to three levels underground providing a remarkable insight into the method and determination of communist forces during the Vietnam War. Return to your hotel.


Day 9 title: Mekong full day to My Tho and Ben Tre

Day 9 description: Meet and greet at your hotel at 8.00am. Start on traveling south from Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. Known as the “rice bowl” of Vietnam, the Delta is the most fertile region in the country, and the main producer of rice and tropical fruits. From My Tho, you board the boat and travel to one of the islands located in the middle of the Mekong River. On the island visit a fruit orchard and sample some of the local produce, before boarding a smaller sampan that winds along narrow canals. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit a local family’s house and enjoy their hospitality and share with them some tea or rice wine. Drive back to Saigon and return to your hotel.


Day 10 title: Departure Saigon

Day 10 description: This is the last day of your Vietnam trip. We know that you will have many beautiful memories of Vietnam. Our driver will meet you at your hotel lobby at the appointed time according to your flight schedule and transfer you to the airport for your onward journey or flight back home.
