DMZ with Vinh Moc Tunnels - 17 Parallel - Hien Luong Bridge Full Day
Travel north to the former Demilitarized Zone, popularly known as the 'DMZ' - the strip of land either side of the 17th Parallel which formally separated North and South Vietnam - still home to many remnants of a war torn past.
Meet and greet at your hotel at 7.00am. Start on a departing Hue to travel north along the road once known as “the street without joy” towards Dong Ha and the Demilitarized Zone. At one time the unofficial border between the former North and South Vietnam (1954-1975) - the 17th Parallel - was, perhaps, the most hotly contested piece of territory on earth. We spend today travelling through the former North-South border area, with a chance to see the Rock pile - an apparently unassailable observation post and also visit Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River, Doc Mieu Base and the Vinh Moc Tunnels. Return to your hotel at about 5.00pm.
