— The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Tuesday signed a 36.6 billion yen (US$348 million) official development assistance (ODA) loan agreement with the Vietnamese government for a project to ensure Vietnam’s maritime security and safety.

— Vietnam on Wednesday morning reported eight new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) linked to four hospitals in the central city of Da Nang, raising the country’s tally to 446 cases with 77 under treatment and 369 recoveries, according to the Ministry of Health.
 
— Ho Chi Minh City standing vice-chairman Le Thanh Liem on Tuesday night issued an urgent dispatch requesting local authorities to strictly implement measures to prevent and control COVID-19, as well as field hospitals meant for COVID-19 treatment to get ready to receive patients, especially serious cases.
 
 
— A woman was in a critical condition while her three children died in a fire in Hoa Binh Village in the north-central province of Ha Tinh on Tuesday afternoon. Local authorities are investigating the cause.
 
— Local rescue forces on Tuesday evening put out a fire engulfing a truck while it was crossing the Hai Van Tunnel in central Vietnam in seven minutes after they detected the incident. No casualties were reported while all cargo on the truck was burned down.
 
— A flight carrying 230 Vietnamese people from Taiwan arrived at Cam Ranh International Airport in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa on Tuesday afternoon. All passengers underwent a medical examination before being sent to collective quarantine.

— The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on Tuesday announced a collaboration with famous Vietnamese-French model Jessica Minh Anh to produce a reality show in order to attract tourists to Vietnam after the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
— Local netizens have recently praised a couple in the central province of Quang Ngai for organizing their wedding ceremony modestly on Tuesday with only the two families’ members in attendance and no guests to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All participants were required to wear masks, wash their hands, not to shake hands, and have body temperature checks.
