— The People’s Committee of the central city of Da Nang on Wednesday evening issued an announcement for local food and drink businesses to stop their operations, including online sale and take away services, from 1:00 pm Thursday due to the ongoing development of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreaks.
— Vietnam on Thursday morning reported nine new cases of COVID-19 in Da Nang and Hanoi, raising the country’s tally to 459 cases with 90 under treatment and 369 recoveries, according to the Ministry of Health.
— 121 medical staff who were in contact with Vietnam’s COVID-19 patients No. 449 and 450 at three hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have tested negative with the virus, the city’s Center for Disease Control announced on Wednesday night.
— According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, as of Wednesday morning, 9,000 people who returned from the central city of Da Nang had made medical declaration while local health authorities had also tested nearly 6,000 cases as part of efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
— Ho Chi Minh City authorities on Wednesday afternoon discovered 11 Chinese people who illegally entered Vietnam at a condominium in Binh Thanh District. All were sent to quarantine.
— Authorities in Da Nang on Wednesday inspected two local facilities and seized 34,000 face masks with unknown origin.

— Live in Cloud - Cuckoo Land, a Vietnamese short film by Vu Minh Nghia and Pham Hoang Minh Thy, will compete with 11 others at the 2020 Venice International Film Festival’s Orizzonti Short Competition category this September, the festival’s organizers announced on July 28.

— The north-central province of Nghe An’s Department of Education and Training on Wednesday afternoon said it has requested local preschools to temporarily halt their operation to protect children from the risk of being infected with COVID-19.
