Commence construction of Vietnam’s largest theme park

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and local and central officials attended a ceremony, pressing symbolic buttons to start the construction of Vietnam’s largest theme park in Hai Phong on Sunday.

The theme park, VinWonders Vu Yen, is developed by Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup at a cost of US$1 billion, featuring world-class entertainment and recreation in the port city of Hai Phong.

The development is designed to cover 50 hectares and boast six indoor and outdoor entertainment areas.

The family area will have the most modern components while the children’s zone will be centered on science, sports, and virtual reality.

In the middle of VinWonders Vu Yen will be all kinds of fast and advanced roller coasters.

The theme park will also include the Vinpearl Safari, the northern region’s first, which is to be inhabited by rare species of Vietnam and the world.

The fifth structure will be an outdoor water park built in harmony with three major rivers surrounding the Vu Yen island.

The last area will be dedicated to a shopping mall that houses a grand food court.

“Upon completion, this theme park will surely impress local and international visitors, helping spur the tourist industry of both Hai Phong in particular and Vietnam in general,” said Nguyen Viet Quang, deputy chairman and CEO of Vingroup.

Vingroup is currently running four VinWonders theme parks in Vietnam, including VinWonders Nha Trang in Nha Trang, VinWonders Nam Hoi An in Hoi An, VinWonders Phu Quoc on Phu Quoc, and VinWonders Times City in Hanoi, according to their website.
