Sublime verdant terraced fields in northwestern Vietnam

Located in the northwestern region of Vietnam, Mu Cang Chai offers tourists the opportunity to immerse themselves in shimmering and peaceful landscapes of the Vietnamese countryside, as depicted in photos by traveler Hoang Linh Ha.

Must-check-in destinations in Mu Cang Chai

The premier check-in place is La Pan Tan Commune which is home to a wide range of highest terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai. According to the author, the road leading to La Pan Tan is steep, small, and winding; therefore, tourists should travel by motorbikes. The romantic wooden house in the middle of the rice fields is one of the most renowned check-in spots here.

Khau Pha is one of the four great mountain passes in the northwestern region of Vietnam, along with O Quy Ho, Pha Din, and Ma Pi Leng. Khau Pha pass road is not as curved as one in Ma Pi Leng; so, it is quite easy to move, according to Zing News.

The author also recommends tourists should travel in groups and should not stay at Khau Pha Pass until evening since it is extremely deserted and dangerous.

Besides Khau Pha, Lim Mong village also leaves the author unforgettable experiences.  The serene beauty of the village enveloped by lush green paddy fields will certainly take visitors’ breath away. The scene of farmers harvesting, pulling, and transporting rice to home features the traditional picture of the Vietnamese countryside.

On the sheer slopes, tourists will have the opportunity to capture in their eyes stunning green terraced fields.

The idyllic life amidst the majestic mountains

Most people opt to travel Mu Cang Chai in autumn from September to October to contemplate the ripening terraced fields. Nevertheless, if you are into the fresh green hue of nature, Mu Cang Chai in green rice season is a perfect choice.

The author stayed at a poetic homestay with a price of 280,000 VND (US$12). The homestay looks out of stretches of verdant green terraced fields. It also offers tasty meal with a price of 100,000 VND (US$4) per person.

The preferred dish in Mu Cang Chai is roast hill chicken. The friendliness of the ethnic people, the innocence of upland children, and the breath-taking landscapes in Mu Cang Chai give the author an immiscible impression.
