Everything you need to know about entry requirements before embarking on your private journey with Tiim Travel.

Do You Need a Visa for Vietnam Travel?

Most foreign travelers require a visa to enter Vietnam. However, Vietnam offers Visa Exemptions for citizens of several countries, allowing them to stay for a specific duration without a visa.

1. Visa-Free Countries (Current Update)

As of 2024/2025, citizens from the following countries can enter Vietnam without a visa for sightseeing purposes:

  • Up to 45 Days: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belarus.

  • Up to 30 Days: Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Kyrgyzstan.

  • Up to 21 Days: Philippines.

  • Up to 14 Days: Brunei, Myanmar.

Important Note: To enjoy the visa exemption, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date and have at least 2 blank pages.

2. Vietnam E-Visa (For Other nationalities)

If your country is not on the exemption list, or if you plan to stay longer than the exempted period, you can easily apply for an E-visa.

  • Validity: Up to 90 days (Single or Multiple entry).

  • Processing time: Usually 3–5 working days.

  • Eligible nationalities: Citizens of all countries and territories are now eligible for the Vietnam E-visa.

3. Special Exemption: Phu Quoc Island

All foreign travelers can visit Phu Quoc Island visa-free for up to 30 days, provided they arrive directly via ship or plane from a foreign country and stay only on the island.
